Celebrating 4 Years at Buon Giorno Caffe and Bistro

Wednesday, November 2, 2011 § 8

A few months ago, Boyfriend and I bought tickets to Bohol for our anniversary. Lo and behold, we ended up in Tagaytay. No regrets though because we still had the best time. Besides, it's not about where we're spending the weekend, it's about being together, enjoying each other's company wherever life (and our budget) takes us.

Our Tagaytay food trip started with a very heavy lunch at Buon Giorno. All the al fresco tables were either taken or reserved so it was either we wait or we dine inside. Since Boyfriend and I were starving already, we opted to eat inside. While waiting for our food to arrive, we were served sliced bread which I thought was a little dry. I also ordered Mango Shake and was pleasantly surprised by how tall my glass was.

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (272) The pasta serving was a little smaller than expected, but what the dish lacks in size, it makes up for in flavor. The anchovy really shined and was perfect with the strong, pungent taste from the garlic. Boyfriend is a sucker for olive oil based pasta and he devoured this aglio e olio in less than 10 minutes.

Chicken Parmigiana (Around 500. I forgot how much this is exactly and I can't find it in the internet) My entree, on the other hand, was designed for a full grown man. Two thick fillets of chicken breast were topped with slices of eggplant, American ham, an enormous chunk of mozarella cheese and tomato sauce. Sadly, the chicken was a little tough but the sauce was really tasty, and the cheese, sinful yet irresistible. It also comes with a small serving of pasta, which basically has olive oil and a ton of garlic. My garlic-loving Boyfriend was crazy for the pasta, but all I can taste was the garlic.

Mochiko (70/pc) Initially, we ordered Pistachio Sansrival from Buon Giorno but we had to cancel it last minute because we were too full already. Also, Mochiko caught my eye, even before we went inside Buon Giorno. I can never pass up on these yummy ice cream filled mochi balls.

Our lunch in Buon Giorno was a nice start to the most magical weekend. Next time, I would definitely try their lamb chops and their lovely tomato based pasta. Buon Giorno is located at Cliffhouse, Tagaytay.

Have you tried Trio in The Fort Strip? I think you and The Boyfriend will also like the food they serve. :)

  • Anonymous 1: Hi, I really want the focus of the blog to be about our adventures and food trips, and not just about us as a couple. I don't want it to turn into another vanity blog about a couple. Same reason as to why I don't post our pictures here. I hope you can respect that. :)

Hi 2nd Anonymous! Thanks for the recommendation. We've passed by Trio a couple of times but we've never eaten there. Will definitely consider it the next time we're in Fort Strip.

Hi, just wondering, of all the places you've been, do you have any idea or encountered a fine dining restaurant where they play classical music? :D thanks
