Insatiable Cravings: Cupcakes by Sonja
Tuesday, August 23, 2011 § 0
One of the perks of being the girlfriend of a law student is that I get to watch him study all the time. Sarcastic, yes, but it does encourage me to do productive things since I don't have anything else to do. As I was updating my curriculum vitae, I got a little stressed and found myself thinking about cupcakes. Then an idea hit me. Why not start a series in my blog about my cravings? Nothing fancy, just a simple picture to share my suffering with other people. And so Insatiable Cravings was born.

Cookbook Kitchen: Of Herbs, Spices and the Scarlet Cake
Tuesday, August 16, 2011 § 0
Cookbook Kitchen is one of those restaurants that we've been meaning to try for a while, mainly because of all the raves I've read and heard about their food. However, their location in Mandaluyong is quite hard to find so we always end up eating somewhere else whenever we're in the area. When I heard that they finally opened up a branch in Eastwood, I immediately dragged Boyfriend there to check it out.
The Great Tea Adventure
Tuesday, August 2, 2011 § 9
For months now, Boyfriend and I have been drowning ourselves with milk tea. I think it's safe to say that it has become an addiction that we can't shake off. We've tried a number of places, discovered unique combinations, acquired new favorites and sworn off some drinks. It's been quite an enlightening experience and it's something that's been bringing us closer together these past few weeks.
Don-day Fresh Restaurant: Overdosing on Samgyupsal
Monday, August 1, 2011 § 4
The restaurants of Maginhawa St. are making people drive all the way to Teacher's Village for their unique offerings. A neighboring street, Malingap, also has it's own set of dining places that are waiting to be discovered. One of those being Don-day Fresh Restaurant. Don-day offers a Korean buffet for only 300 pesos that includes a wide variety of authentic Korean dishes and an all-you-can-eat Samgyupsal (Samgyeopsal). You can also get bottomless drinks for an additional 50 pesos.

In our 6 years together, we've already tried a variety of venues suitable for couples of all ages - from your regular McDonalds, insane yakiniku places, quaint and cozy little restaurants, fine dining, hotel buffets, weekend markets to resorts that go beyond Manila. But we want more. I believe that Manila, and the Philippines as a whole, has a lot of secrets waiting to be discovered. So from here on out, I will share with you our adventures with food, and maybe even life. Itadakimasu.
