Insatiable Cravings: Macarons by Sinfully

Macarons aren't an easy treat to find in Manila. Admittedly, I haven't been eating them for too long. I first got a taste of these pretty French creation a few years ago from Bizu that left me wondering why they were that popular. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. But one night in Midnight Mercato, I discovered Empire (I will write about this soon so I won't get into the details). Empire changed the way I feel about macarons. However, they don't have a shop yet, that's why they're really considered a rare treat for me. For two weeks I've been craving for macarons. Then a friend suggested this new place in Greenbelt called Sinfully.

Walking inside Sinfully is like stepping into a dream. They have the most beautiful array of pastries, cakes, pralines, truffles, and of course, macarons. I was too mesmerized to even take pictures of the place. Sadly, the macarons weren't as good as I hoped they would be. I am by no means an expert but they were a little too crunchy for my taste. Some of the flavors are also a little boring to the palate as well, like the mocha and caramel flavored ones. I did love the cute, yellow, passion fruit flavored macaron because the flavor was very distinct and delicious. Maybe next time I'll try their pralines instead.

Sinfully by Shangrila Makati is located at the 2nd floor of Greenbelt 5.
