Since the year started, Boyfriend and I decided on going for a healthier lifestyle. The gym is now part of our usual routine, and we have lessened our excessive dinner dates considerably. Because of this, I try to make the most out of those days when I actually get to eat "normal" food (I say "I" because Boyfriend still eats a lot when we're not together).

Chicken Charlie: BonChon's Filipino Brother
Friday, October 14, 2011 § 0
Ever since Boyfriend and I discovered BonChon, we have been devouring their chicken like it wasn't double-fried. When we found out that Chicken Charlie, a home-grown chain that also specializes on double-fried chicken, finally has a branch in Katipunan, we immediately made plans to visit. They were still on a soft-opening so the service was a bit slow. Also, Chicken Charlie promises freshly prepared fried chicken so you'd have to wait for 10-15 minutes before they serve your food.
Welcome aboard

To kick this blog off, I'd like to share some of my favorite dishes that I've eaten this year. Boyfriend and I make it a point to try a new restaurant at least once a month and it's actually been good for us. This is a great alternative to the usual movie + favorite restaurant combination. It gives you more things to talk about and puts an exciting element to the typical dinner date. But I'm not here to talk about relationships am I? On to the food.
American Dream by Omakase (190 for 10 pcs.) This has been our staple dish in Omakase since we first tasted it a few years ago. It is a deep fried maki with salmon, kani and cream cheese. Everything goes perfectly together and there is just the right amount of cheese to balance the taste. Experience has taught me that too much cream cheese isn't always good. Omakase's "secret sauce" is a great match for it and you can ask for second servings of the sauce for free.
About Me
- Tables for Couples
- My boyfriend and I have been in a constant search for great new places perfect for dates. In our 6 years together, we've already tried a variety of venues suitable for couples of all ages - from your regular McDonalds, insane yakiniku places, quaint and cozy little restaurants, fine dining, hotel buffets, weekend markets to resorts that go beyond Manila. But we want more. I believe that Manila, and the Philippines as a whole, has a lot of secrets waiting to be discovered. So from here on out, I will share with you our adventures with food, and maybe even life. Itadakimasu.
